Coach Pop Pregame Media Availability - Spurs vs. Knicks

(On the Knicks undefeated record at this point in the season?)
"They have done really well. They are playing solid defense. They are aggressive with it. Offensively they are playing together. They are going to their strengths. Guys are accepting roles around the strengths. Those are always good signs. If you can get a team to understand the pecking order and how they can best help the group offensively, that is a big plus. If everybody can buy in defensively, both individually and as a team, then it seems Mike (Woodson) has gotten both of those things accomplished."

(On how Tiago Splitter has been playing?)
"Tiago does the same things game in and game out. He is a guy that knows what his strengths are. He knows what his role is and that is to play the best defense you can and rebound. In the Laker game he got the biggest rebound of the game. That is what he does consistently for us."

(On the difference between this year?s Knicks team as opposed to last year?s?)
"Mike (Woodson) finally had a chance to go through camp and get his ideas through. He is a defensive-minded, aggressive guy. He believes in all the principles that Larry Brown has espoused over a long career. As I do. You can see it in his team. It is the aggressive defense and the unselfishness on offense. It can really become contagious. When you win on top of it people start believing in things."
